Do you take Credit or Debit Cards?
Sorry, but we do not take credit or debit cards as we do not have that facility at Polcraig. Payment on the morning of departure is made in G.B pounds or by Cheque.
Do I Require Deposits?
No, we do not require a deposit, but we ask that if for any unforeseen reason you cannot get here as planned, please let us know as early as possible.
What if I need to cancel?
Please let us know as early as possible that you will not be able to get to Polcraig Guest House as originally planned. We will not send a bill for accommodation that has not been taken up, as on most occasions, given sufficient warning, we are able to re-let our room(s).
Do you take one night bookings in advance?
Most of the time, we do take one night bookings in advance, so always get in touch and we will update you as to the current situation.
Are you happy to accommodate groups of people?
Yes, we do take bookings from groups, so always get in touch to see what accommodation is available for the period you require to stay.
Do you have internet access in your rooms?
Yes, we provide free internet access throughout our house. It also extends to the car park and outside seating areas.
Is there a telephone available for guests use?
We do not have a guest telephone as most guests tend to have mobile phones. If you need to use a land line for any good reason, then please just ask and you can use our handset free of charge.
Do you take dogs or other pets?
No, we are really sorry but we do not take pets of any kind.
Do you cater for special diets?
We do provide for special diets wherever possible, and we ask you to please discuss your requirements in that respect with us at the time of making your booking.
What are your check in and out times?
Our usual check in time on day of arrival is after 4.30 pm, and check out time is by 10.30 am on the morning of departure. However if you need to check in or out, late or early, we will do our best to accommodate your request so please just ask.
What time is breakfast served?
Breakfast is normally served between 7.45 am and 9.00 am. every day. If you need an earlier breakfast then please let us know, and if possible we will try to accommodate your request.
What is your smoking policy?
The whole inside of this house is a no smoking area. Guests who smoke are welcome to do so in the grounds outside. We ask for the benefit of everyone, to please obey this simple, but very strict, rule.
Is your house disabled friendly?
There are different types of disability. Our house is built on a hillside, so there are three different floor levels inside separated by two sets of seven steps, one set of which leads up, and the other set of which leads down from the reception area. Additionally, there are 20 steps outside leading up to the front door. Unfortunately, the steps can make it very difficult for anybody with a severe walking disability. There are hand rails provided both outside and inside the property to assist you.
Is your Property a Licensed Guest House?
No, we do not have a drinks licence, but if you wish to bring your own in then we will provide you with the appropriate glasses, so that you can have a drink in the privacy of your bedroom. A five minute walk in either direction will get you to friendly bars.
Do you have a residents lounge?
We are sorry, but we do not have a resident's lounge. All you require in this respect is provided in your bedroom where you can sit comfortably in private, relax, have a beverage, and watch television.
